Kaya's 9th Birthday Party

We celebrated Kaya's birthday (July 1) on the 4th of July. The weather was warm and sunny, which was great for a swimming party. Kaya's neighborhood friends, Colette and Den-Den arrived early at 10 am. They played "12 second" game and water gun shoot out in the pool until their skin was raisin like. Most of the guests arrived around 3pm,which was the official party time. Preparations began as early as 7am. I baked loads of cupcakes and prepared pizza dough. Elvie made spaghetti and che blew up ballons and cleaned up some house clutter.It was a fun party that lasted till 9pm.

Event Styling

Last June 12 I did an "event styling" job at Sofitel Hotel. It was for the Debut of Ms. Weegee Decena. It was a garden/park theme that the parents wanted for their daughter. Thanks to Charlotte and Maja for having me on board their events team for this event.

La Luz of Aling Ely

The following photos are of La Luz "Labas" or Aling Ely's compound which is right outside La Luz. She rents out these cottages in case the resorts are full. If you prefer to bring and cook your own food you can do it here, since the resorts in Laiya do not allow guests to bring their own food anymore.

One Divan Day

Last Wednesday we were tasked to build a divan in one day. This was for an impromptu photo shoot for a high profile shampoo product (for Thursday). A divan by the way is a long low sofa usually without a back or arms, typically placed against a wall, much like a daybed or settee. This was for the production design team of my hubby, Che. With my college background in interior design and sheer determination we were able to pull it off in less tan 8 hours. We had two covers made one in velvet black and one in grey.

Birthday Cake Experiment

This is an experimental cake I made for my friend Elena's birthday party. I combined coconut cream with chocolate and added a mousse layer. This is the Coco Cream Choco Mousse Cake.

CooCoo Mousse

This is the cake i made for my mom's birthday last January 1. I was inspired by this book i recently purchased from Fully Booked, entitled "Small Batch Baking". This is a chocolate mousse cake.

Sk8r Kaya

Kaya bought a skateboard with some of her Christmas cash. She's been practicing how to do an "ollie" for a couple of days now. We have been hanging out at Bonifacio High Street so she can practice with her skateboard. The guys at Stoked were very helpful, they gave her tips and even tuned up her board for free.

Golden Wedding

We celebrated the Golden Wedding Anniversary of my parents last Decmber 21, 2008.
I made the wedding cake and cupcakes for the affair. It was my first attempt at making a pound cake with butter cream frosting. I also flavored it using Rum. So I guess I can call it, a "Pound Butter Cream Frosted Rum Cake".
